When To Speak Out About Terrorism Raises A "Deeply Inappropriate" Conflict

geoffff

Public rebuke: The head of the NSW Community Relations Commission Vic Alhadeff.
Don't Mention The Racist Vilification, The Lynchings, Or The War Crimes

Keep Stum. As You Were

Here is another window into the state of Australian multiculturalism.  Shirlee touched on this yesterday in her street level account of the same thing.

Vic Alhadeff is chief executive of the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies. He is also chair of the NSW Community Relations Commission.  Recently he sent an email to "Jewish community members"  that according to this report

...  criticised the “Hamas terror organisation” for launching rockets on Israeli towns, saying families had been forced into shelters and “children kept from summer camp”
Israel would “do whatever is needed to defend its citizens. All options are on the table”, he said.
He accused Hamas of “war crimes” for “indiscriminately” attacking civilians, claiming in contrast, Israel uses “care to avoid civilian casualties” and “pinpoint technologies to hit the targeted infrastructure”.

And? Is that it?

This is what you would expect a  communal leader with any guts to say and it is entirely consistent with both of his important public roles. Man telling the truth and doing his job. We should be so lucky. We should have him cloned.  Move on.  Nothing to see here.

Not a bit of it of course.

The statement triggered outrage amongst Arab leaders in NSW, including Joseph Wakim, former Victorian Multicultural Affairs Commissioner and founder of the Australian Arabic Council, who described the views as “biased and provocative”.
Mr Alhadeff’s appointment to the Community Relations Commission in December last year “should never have happened” because it created a serious conflict of interest. He called on Mr Alhadeff to relinquish one role.
In a statement, co-convenors of the NSW Parliamentary Friends of Palestine, Labor MP Lynda Voltz and Greens MP David Shoebridge, said Mr Alhadeff’s comments were “deeply inappropriate” and unless they were withdrawn, his community relations role was “clearly untenable”.
A spokesman for Premier Mike Baird said Mr Alhadeff “has done an excellent job” as CRC chair but his statement "may be considered inconsistent” with promoting community harmony.“He has acknowledged the need to focus on issues in NSW and avoid using inappropriate language regarding overseas conflicts”.

Let's take a step back and see what we have here.

Israel did not attack Hamas. Hamas started this war and declared it in the most obscene way possible. Hamas continues to wage this war with all its resources. The impact on the Israeli people is of course enormous.

Hamas does this from under the cover of its own civilian population because it wants to burn some of the people the regime shelters behind.

They want dead innocent Arab people, preferably kids, as well as dead Jews. These are soldiers in jihad too says Hamas.

This is what terrorist regimes do and this is why Hamas has been declared an illegal terrorist organisation.

The IDF refuses to co operate. It has responded with a precision that has never been achieved before anywhere. The IDF is not attacking human life especially innocents. This is on show for everyone who cares to look.
The Israelis use phones, texts, social media and leaflets to warn of IAF actions. The military calls off strikes if its cameras or pilots detect civilians in the target zone.

Incredibly the Israelis are delivering non lethal missiles to the roofs of  target buildings to warn of an imminent attack so as to give the people, all the people including of course enemy combatants, time to get out of the way of the line of fire.

We need to dwell on the implications of that. I can think of nothing like this in all of history.

There have been civilian casualties but the available independent evidence is that the majority of the dead and injured are enemy combatants or at least statistically much less likely to be very young, old or female.  The UN has confirmed that most received warnings.
Iron Dome has so far largely protected the civilian populations outside of Gaza, both Arabs and Jews. A remarkable achievement.
To describe the war crimes of Hamas is "inappropriate" for the Community Relations Commission, and Aldaheff must stay stum or go.

So he has elected to stay stum and good for him. That's his decision.
But does this mean no Jewish communal leader can do their jobs and denounce terrorism and reassure their community without being "slammed" as in conflict with any role they may have under the official machinery of multiculturalism?

Does it mean no one can denounce terrorism and cold blooded murder if they expect to have a role in official "community relations"?
Imagine what would happen if anyone in the multicultural industry was to condemn the open racism of the pro- Hamas war rally in Sydney last weekend.
A conflict.

Sure there is but it is not a conflict of interest or duty.

This would have been impossible even ten years ago. There are now too many cheering for Hamas, Hezbollah and the caliphate that it has become impossible for someone dedicated to communal harmony in Australia to speak about racist war crimes in progress and why they are so abhorrent, and are the sole cause of this war, and expect to keep an official role, at least in NSW. Not to even talk of such things within his own community.*

And Vic Aldaheff goes along with all this?

How long does this gag last? Until after the next hudna? Forever?

Where do you go from there.

What Vic Aldaheff signs up for is his business. My concern is not at all with how he decides to deploy his time but with the new dynamics that have gagged him and how they have the potential to gag us all.

Also a conflict that perhaps can arise for anyone out of a special communal duty or otherwise who takes on something official to do with community relations that prohibits her from ever talking about racist attacks on Jews anywhere, including from Gaza, and the potential these have to spread anywhere including here.

Even if it is a conflict of conscience alone.

I guess no one in these roles can make statements on stuff, especially wars and conflict, that could inflame community relations here. Obvious when you say it quickly.

But that's the rub. After the sun has set this a deep silence about an awfully large gorilla in the jungle of community relations and raises questions about what we pay for multiculturalism.

* At New Matilda Michael Brull has been monitoring Vic Aldaheff's tweets and statements for anything at all to do with Israel. I will not flatter anyone with a link.

What a sad and strange little man.

KKK Racists On The March Through Sydney CBD

geoffff

I am pleased to say I have met Shirlee Finn.

I already knew that she was one gutsy lady who had been in the front line of the Marrickville Council outrage of 2011. For many that was a wake up call. Suddenly we had this smug and pig ugly inner-city political elite that was so self confident that the moment its ticket took a controlling influence over a Sydney council, the elite's party, the Greens, chose to pick a fight over whether Jews on the other side of the world have the human right to keep the brilliant little state they formed and defended against all the odds; and naturally will continue to do so come what may as all free people do.

Shirlee is not a big person. Most of these men would tower over her but she is a lady of enormous dignity. Armed with a camera she fronted whatever it is that clings together long enough to form a pro-Hamas war rally on a Sydney Sunday and took some shots.

They were all there. Creeps with black flags. Jew baiting Hitler-taunting SA horror heads, some known to get violent if they can get away with it. Dangerous looking types of all genders many with their heads and faces covered. Trots on the run. Gormless clueless idiots of no particular description. Greens.

Then they brought on Vivienne Porsolt. At this point it could have been the bar scene out of Star Wars except these people are still there after the credits roll and vote.

But even that wasn't the worst of it.

Shirlee was there as a service to Australian multiculturalism . Do read my brave friend's piece to see what she went through to bring to us this street side health check on the state of Australian multiculturalism.

Antisemitism at RALLY for GAZA.

I decided, against my better judgement and curiosity, to attend a pro-Gaza rally in the city on Sunday 13th July with a friend.
…………… but let’s forget that for the moment.
The night before, Saturday,  I and a few other Israel supporters, were posting on the Facebook page for this rally. The ignorance of these pro-Palestinian supporters defies belief, they don’t know the most basic facts. It doesn’t take long to realise this has really has nothing to do with being pro anything, but all about being anti.
Antisemitic that is.
I experienced something I have only heard about. I and others were verbally attacked with antisemitic comments, though mainly me. I cannot begin to tell you how sick I felt and still do. Feeble word I know, but there are no words to describe how I feel. I am still churning inside. Never in my life did I expect this in our beautiful country where, apparently, multiculturalism has been a great success.!!
I think I was targeted more than the others, as I was the only person posting actual facts and figures, whereas everyone else was posting  videos and posters. The Max Brenner remark was specifically for me, as I have a Max Brenner picture on my profile. It was mainly one person . According to a surname search, he is Turkish. The last one is a young pretty hijab wearing woman.
Here are  a few of them. Only a few I might add.
Your wife must be blind mate you’ve got a head like a smashed pumpkin you filthy Jewish dog… Go have a shower everyone knows u pigs only wash once a month.
shame everyone in Australia has boycotted Max Brenner that u use as a profile pic… Stay away from the chocolate my Muslim mate works in the New town store u eat at and pisses in the food… Watch out its not kosher.
Ze tooraaah … Why do u guys sound like that when u talk?? Like someone straining for a shit and coughing at the same time. Do us all a favor and go wobble back and forth reciting Satan’s manual and sticking your cocks in the wailing wall.
These putrid people r so scared that in Australia when they drop kids off at school they check under the cars for bombs. The school looks like a prison and the kids Dont have friends from the outside society. Explains why believe the lies their told. Of course mummy thinks your brilliant little ***** and little ****** poo… U r the chosen ones!! Chosen to go fuk yourself you scummy chatty dogs.
And Samantha Saint guys will be dyeing to be first to welcome u into the country.. Even the Jewish dads who go who have to go repent at the synagogue bcos they watch and imagine you cos there wives are bald fat bitches. That’s not even a joke they wear wigs and have sex through a hole in a white sheet… That’s legit too I’m not making it up…
******** and ****** you scums of the earth get the out of here you scummy pigs. We don’t want jews in Australia go back to Europe so another Hitler can appear and finish you scums off. I don’t blame him for burning 6 million of you scums alive. You wanna know why youre the most hated religion on this planet? because god has labelled you as the prophet killers. He favoured jews over all his creation and all he asked for in return was their submission, but instead they boycotted and killed every prophet he sent them. You even killed Jesus (peace be upon him) you mutts!!!! so God sent down a verse saying “Become apes: Despised and Disgraced!”
With that out of the way, let’s get on with the rally.
When I arrived at Sydney Town Hall I was quite taken aback by the numbers of people there. Here I was in a sea of Arabs, keffiyehs, hijabs, niqabs, hamas headbands, Palestinian flags, Greens’ banners, black “flags of Jihad” and  good number of Hezbollah flags , which was surprising seeing as this was supposed to be about Gaza.
It was comforting to see the Police there in such great numbers. There were Police from the Riot Squad as well as regular and mounted Police.
I have to tell you I found the whole event frightening and very confronting. I was not comfortable, far from it. The anger, the rage, the hate was overwhelming and I really was quite scared.
I was especially upset to see tiny children dressed in Hezbollah flags, Hamas outfits with headbands too, draped in keffiyehs and pumping the air with their fists yelling
“Death to Israel” “Down, down with Israel”  “Israel, Israel, who can’t hide, you support genocide” and the original “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”
This is a photo of your ‘typical’ family from a Facebook page! There are no words necessary here.
The lies and hate there I have no words for.
The organisers were repeatedly saying they are not against Jews but Israel, yet the number of antisemitic posters showed that as a lie. According to a couple of people on Facebook there were some ISIS flags there too, but neither of us saw one.
The guy with the HOLY COST sign saw me with a camera and raised it for me to photograph.

I was going to do a whole spiel about what all the speakers said, but I will just do bits as they come to mind.
The lies out there are not funny and our adversaries are doing a good job of getting misinformation out and we really need to do something to reverse that.
The woman who ‘conducted the whole thing , amid her screaming the usual well known slogans and riling everyone up to a state of  frightening hysteria, came out with a statement about McDonald’s which puzzled me and still does.
She said for people not to buy McDonalds’ because they support Israel. Her exact words were ….
“For every McDonald’s burger you buy, you are paying for a bullet to Gaza”
I have no idea where that comes from and find it rather funny and so will you if you watchthis video I highlighted in “Arabs Down Under” where you can order McDonald’s from El Arish in Egypt, delivered ‘via tunnel’.
Another was that “Gaza is the most densely populated place on earth” whilst I know full well it stands at 22.
A man who apparently had just returned from a visit to Gaza told of how people are crying out for help as they are starving? Have no medical supplies? Have no power? Yet we know that even in the midst of this conflict Israel is delivering food, fuel and medical supplies, whilst people are crossing to visit doctors and hospitals.
Lee Rhiannon said in her speech that the silence from Labor and the coalition around the atrocities of the Israeli military towards Palestine is shameful.
“The Israeli and Palestinian conflict is not one of equal partners: there is an oppressor and there are the oppressed.”
“The international community, including Australian politicians, must not allow Israeli forces to unleash another bloodbath in Gaza and in the West Bank. The people of Gaza, who live in the world’s biggest open prison, endure much hardship every day in the face of Israeli military aggression.”
Basically she carried on about the Government supporting Israel and not caring about the poor Palestinians.
Next up was Vivienne Porsolt spewing her hatred whilst proudly claiming to be a Jew. That raised one the biggest cheers of the day. It makes me sick that people of her ilk trade on their Jewishness, when really they don’t care about it at all.
She perpetuated the lie about the timing of the kidnapping and murder of Gil-Ad Shaer, Naftali Fraenkel and Eyal Yifrah which is going around. It is that the

kidnapping was  a carefully orchestrated Israeli government propaganda campaign designed to destroy the Fatah/Hamas unity government, in order to demonise the Palestinians as ‘terrorists’, and to give the Israeli government another excuse to start a war and that they knew about the deaths of those poor children for days without telling their families.

In other words Israel started an offensive against Gaza due to these deaths, with no mention of rocket attacks for the last 6 months.
My question to our so-called Community Leaders out there is ..
“Why do we tolerate people like this to be Part of our official Community?”
She is not alone. There were other Jews there who I know by name and sight from other ‘events’
“Are we stupid?”
No don’t answer that.  This apparently is democracy, well if this democracy you can have it.
Then she started an attack on Vic Alhadeff, who is the CEO on the NSW Board of Deputies over a recent email, I think it is. It has been blown out of all proportion and she was trying to score Brownie points out of it.
She called on other Jews to stand up and to publicly show their support for the ‘Palestinians’
Then came Jake Lynch. He heads the Department of Peace and Conflict studies at Sydney University.  He is his own ‘study in conflict’. He prevented Prof. Dan Avnon of the Hebrew University from taking a position there. Big story. The point is that Shurat Hadin had tried to take legal  action against him and the case was recently withdrawn.
He made mileage out of that. Shurat HaDin is an Israel NGO  which fights terrorism through the legal system and is doing excellent work. He accused them of being the puppet of the Israeli government. Which received huge cheers.
He never got to finish his speech. Whilst he was speaking some protesters stormed the makeshift stage on the side steps of the Town Hall .
I wasn’t 100% sure what happened.  I heard some agitated people around me. The next thing I noticed was a man tearing down the huge Palestinian Flag accompanied by a man with a large movie camera.
There was some kind of a struggle with Police called on to the stage. According to the Telegraph it was ‘performance’ was about a Hezbollah flag causing offence.
I didn’t see one and if one was there, what was the kerfuffle about seeing as to how they weren’t in short supply at the rally.?
What I did see on the right hand side of the stage was a man standing holding an Australian flag aloft by its top corners before he was pulled away by Police. No doubt it was someone showing his anger at foreign flags being flown in this country, which traditionally we don’t like.
There were a couple of other insignificant speakers and the constant chanting the usual anti-Israel slogans.
They way they were whipping people up to a frenzy really was very confronting.
We followed the March around a City block. The noise was deafening. There really wasn’t much interest from people around and I did hear some complaints. I am happy I wasn’t one the drivers in the many vehicles stopped to let this rabble through.
We stopped to do a head count and figured about 2,500. We asked the police, they said similar, though I heard on 9 News last night 5,000. No way.  The noise of their screaming at times was deafening. They have more organised for the 20th and 26th which they claim will be bigger and better.

Dead Babies, War Crimes And A Climate Of Hate

geoffff

Alan Dershowitz at the Jerusalem Post. a few days ago.

Hamas is willfully and deliberately committing a double war crime by targeting Israeli civilians and using Palestinian civilians as human shields. The deliberate targeting of civilians, as Hamas admits – indeed boasts – it is doing, is a clear war crime. Hamas has aimed its lethal rockets at Beersheba, Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem. This is a war crime. Moreover, it is firing these rockets from hospitals, schools and houses in densely populated areas, in order to cause Israel to kill Palestinian civilians.
This too is a war crime
This has been called Hamas’s “dead baby strategy.” It deliberately puts Israel to the tragic choice of attacking the rockets and killing some children who are used as human shields, or refraining from attacking the rockets and thereby placing its own children at risk. Israel has generally chosen the option of refraining from attacking legitimate military targets, but when any human shields are inadvertently killed or injured, Hamas stands ready to cynically parade the dead civilians in front of television cameras, which transmit these gruesome pictures around the world with captions blaming Israel.

This blog is among those experiencing deja vu all over again. Something like that anyway.  Perhaps its time to come up with a term to describe that strange feeling you get when you're in a situation, and you are absolutely and nauseatingly certain you have been in the exact same disgusting situation before.

Like stepping in dog shit in a park.

What would you call that?

Deja spew?

From this blog,  22 November 2012.

Religious fuelled fanatics toss rockets mortars and missiles over the border aimed specifically at the civilian population. Acts that by any standard are vicious war crimes.
They shelter these cowardly attacks from under their own dragooned civilian population. Women and kids. Terrible acts
Another war crime.
The Israelis have responded with a precision that leaves military tacticians everywhere quietly astonished. Nothing like this has been achieved before. Over 2000 air strikes and the civilian death toll has been so low that the Hamas blood libel specialists and their allies in the Western left have been forced to use the corpses of kids killed in Hamas misfires and Syria for their propaganda dead baby pictures aimed at infuriating the mob.

From this blog, 20 November 2012.

"International Law Experts" Where Are You?

The racist left media in particular love to harp on about legality when it comes to attacking Israel. The "settlements" (whatever that means) are "illegal" (other than what is illegal under Israeli law .. they are not), the "blockade" is "illegal" (it is not), and above all the "Occupation" (it is not).
All these things are lawful under whatever remains of international law and there you have a legal opinion from Che Gorilla himself for free.
So has been every single munition that the Israeli defences deployed against Hamas since the start of this campaign.
Anyone care to disagree?
Anyone?
On the other hand every single missile fired by Hamas and its allies is a war crime and these are being counted.
A double war crime. Firing a missile at a civilian population is a war crime that warrants prosecution at the International Criminal Court..
But firing from the middle of a civilian population is another.
Every single civilian killed or maimed in this exchange has been the victim of the war criminals of Hamas and its allies.
They should be prosecuted. Those that are left.
War crime count
Hamas and Pals
2416
IDF
None
These crimes should be recorded.
If this blog does not have the distinction of first describing "the dead baby strategy" in those words then it must be unpleasantly close.

From this blog, 18 November 2012.

Dead Baby Slur Ramp Up Right On Schedule.

Then the blood libels. The dead kid photos. Despite billions from the West Gaza has no paramedics for its ambulances (at least none have ever been seen in the same photo) but dozens of photographers. The ambulance have no gurneys but   the city is bristling with rockets. It is the ultimate moral inversion and it is offensive.
Detractors of Israel whine about never being able to criticise Israel without being being accused of antisemitism. OK. here is their chance.
Listen very carefully to the whiners now. What do they have to say?
Why are they waiting? What are they waiting for? Some more dead kid photos?
That always play well. The Western media know that angle well. The blood libel staple a la Netzarim Junction. That's why there are always more photographers than medicos in all those photos.

Yep. That's an innocent dead kid for sure. That the Prime Minister of Egypt for certain playing the Jews murder innocent children card for all it's worth.
Only one problem. This child was not killed in an Israeli air strike.. He was killed when a rocket fired from within Gaza misfired and fall short. One of many.
How long before the antisemitic left begins retailing the Israelis are murdering innocent children  war frenzy slurs?
Complete with staged photos fresh from the Hamas propaganda hate  mills?.

From this blog, 16 November 2012

As we commented at Israel Thrives  just a few hours ago you could almost write the script. And it's got to the point that you can reply pre emptively to the criticisms of Israel that are sure to come from this act of self defence.

From this blog, 15 November 2012

For almost a week Israel has been under attack.
If you live in Australia and unless you have seen a blog like  this  it is very likely you would not know that. If you have received all of your news from Australia's national broadcaster you have no chance at all of knowing that.
It's not that the ABC didn't know that Israel was under attack. They have correspondents living in the country for chrissake. It's just that they did not consider it news.
And it's not that their "experts" didn't know that an Israeli response was imminent. You don't need to be an expert to know that. All you have to do is pick any decent country in the world, say Canada, or Australia, and ask yourself what would they do and you have your answer.
It's just that the ABC editors chose to keep that "expert analysis" from you.

What could you say that has changed this time round?

If anything the ABC may have moderated its anti-Israel bias since it did a hatchet job fronted by the very strange John Lyons of The Australian a while back that included charming little fantasies from hell like"Palestinian children" in detention are strung up from "cross like structures" and "beaten to a pulp" under interrogation.

Sure they are, John. All the better to drain the blood for baking.

But any ABC moderation won't last and Lyons himself is unreformed.

For him this all about the "Occupation" and the "settlements". By that he is inviting us to believe that this is all about Jerusalem and the West Bank and the failure to reach an accommodation with the "Palestinians" that brings an end to the "Occupation". This is Israel's fault.

But this is a war launched by Hamas from Gaza that was declared by a hate crime atrocity of the type Hamas has specialised since it was formed. Any deal made about Jerusalem and the West Bank would mean nothing at all to Hamas. What do they have to say and do to prove that?

Hamas does not mince a single word about what they are about. They will not pause in these attacks on Israel and the Jews until there is no Israel and no Jews and they say so again and again. Not just Hamas.  It is not possible that Lyons is unaware of this. Why is Lyons incapable of identifying and enunciating that this ideology of undisguised Jew hatred might be close to the root cause of this conflict?

Lyons is utterly focussed on the fringe of the fringe in Israel and ignores completely what is mainstream in the Palestinian political culture and way beyond. Soccer hooligans for crying out loud. When Lyons writes of a "climate of hatred" that is "obvious" he is referring not to Hamas infested Gaza but Israel.

It is like defining Australian society by the dynamics of the Cronulla riots.

Has Australia ever produced a Middle East Correspondent who isn't an anti-Israel bigot?

Letter From Israel

War Again! July 2014

I would say that it’s becoming tiresome, this never-ending battle, but this time it’s different.  Three kidnapped young men, dead before negotiations could even begin.  The young Arab boy, burnt to death.  Instead of perceiving these two tragedies as done and done—let’s move on before more young people are killed—each side is trying to convince the world that its might is right.

At the bat mitzvah party we attended a few evenings ago:  The father was giving his well honed speech when a friend came racing into the hall, ran up to him and whispered just enough for the father to stop his speech and tell us:  There has been a warning siren.  If there is another one, please make for the basement immediately.  There wasn’t another siren, but I had two immediate thoughts:  Thank goodness for that and I didn’t know Israeli shules had basements.

TEL AVIV IS CLOSED DOWN!! Tel Aviv has been closed down for the first time in memory.  Hundreds of rockets are coming, thick and fast.  We live about 6 kilometres from TA and it’s blue skies and graduation ceremonies here.  We will attend one tonight.  Out of doors.  Let us pray that the local Iron Dome will continue its record of close to 100% knockouts.  (Wow—now I understand the name of the ice-cream that emerged after the last conflict!)

People in TA are being instructed to stay indoors, not to try to reach their homes.  The restaurants are burgeoning, making this into a memorable gastronomic event.  Shoppers, workers, teenagers rummaging in the stores for end-of-summer bargains all suddenly become family to one another.  Jerusalem is no doubt experiencing the same thing.  Been there, done that.  My first war took place there.

There seems to be no end to this...

Time To Take Out Hamas Once And For All

geoffff

There is about to be a major military operation by the IDF against Hamas.

You will be lied to about the causes of this and no turd will be left untossed by the professional haters of Israel and their lick spittle seekers of fashion in the universities and the left/liberal media.  The lying and shit throwing are part of this war as it is every war; not to mention the spittle licking.

The truth is in front of our noses as it usually is. Take a moment to reflect on what Israel is up against. Then tell me whether or not this little country is fighting our war as well as its own; or at least a disproportionate share of it.

Can you imagine how the world would look if Israel was to lose her fight?
